Dr. Siavash Ardekani — Founder and Technical Director of ETROYL

Leadership

Dr. Siavash Ardekani

Founder & Technical Director, ETROYL

Dr. Siavash Ardekani founded ETROYL to connect scientific understanding, multidisciplinary engineering, and practical deployment. With more than 25 years of experience across research, engineering, and technical leadership, he has contributed to complex technological systems spanning sensing, digital and embedded systems, signal processing, real-time imaging, development of test benches for semiconductor designs, mechatronics, and other demanding engineering environments.

Scientific Foundation

Dr. Ardekani holds a Ph.D. from Université catholique de Louvain, awarded in October 2013. His doctoral research focused on ground-penetrating radar forward and inverse modelling, with a minor specialisation in near-field electromagnetic modelling.

This research established a foundation in electromagnetic phenomena, radar sensing, mathematical and numerical modelling, signal processing, and inverse problems. These disciplines continue to influence the analytical approach behind ETROYL.

He also carried out postdoctoral research at the Royal Military Academy of Belgium, further extending his experience in advanced scientific and engineering environments.

Engineering Experience

Over his career, Dr. Ardekani has worked across the full path from technical investigation and architecture definition to implementation, integration, verification, and deployment. His experience includes both hands-on engineering and system-level responsibility across multidisciplinary programmes.

Some professional work has been carried out in confidential or restricted environments and therefore cannot be described publicly in project-level detail. Where work can be discussed, the focus is on the technical domains, engineering responsibilities, and transferable experience rather than confidential client or programme information.

Technical Leadership

Beyond individual technical development, Dr. Ardekani has led and coordinated complex engineering activities involving multidisciplinary teams and international stakeholders. His experience includes technical programme coordination, system-level decision-making, architecture definition, engineering risk management, and the coordination of R&D activities across international environments.

At ETROYL, technical leadership means remaining connected to the engineering itself: understanding the underlying problem, challenging assumptions, defining the right architecture, making informed trade-offs, and maintaining technical coherence from early investigation through implementation and deployment.

Professional Profiles

The ETROYL Philosophy

Technology should not exist for its own sake. A strong engineering solution begins by understanding the problem at its scientific and technical foundations, continues through disciplined engineering, and proves its value through practical use.

This is the principle behind ETROYL: Science → Engineering → Deployment. Scientific understanding provides the foundation. Engineering transforms that understanding into a coherent solution. Deployment ensures that the result can be integrated, validated, documented, and used in the real world.
